Enjoy our beautiful oceanfront trail on the famous North Shore! Perfect for both experienced riders or for guests who have never ridden a horse before, our beachfront horseback rides offer a fun and unique experience. You will be riding real working polo ponies who will take very good care of you.

Sunshine Horseback Rides in Oahu

During your ride, you’ll have a spectacular view of the ocean and may catch a glimpse of a sea turtle who likes to come feed on the rocks in front of the polo field. Daytime trail rides provide crystal-clear views of the expansive ocean (weather permitting). You can see the marine life below the surface, catch glimpses of playful dolphins or sea turtles, and enjoy the unobstructed visibility of the horizon. The clarity of the daylight enhances the overall experience, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the coastal beauty of Oahu. You will be riding real working polo ponies who will take very good care of you.

As the golden sun begins its descent over the Pacific Ocean, casting warm hues across the horizon, your horseback journey becomes a sensory feast. A sunset ride is a great option for romance, breathtaking scenery, and tranquility as you ride alongside the ocean! Perfect for both experienced riders or for guests who have never ridden a horse before.

Please note: Check-in time is 45 minutes prior to the start of the ride!

  • Check-in Reminder: Please arrive promptly 30-45 minutes before your activity’s start time to check in.

Requirements

  • Check-in is 30 min beforehand for the Sunshine Rides, and 45 minutes for the Sunset Ride.
  • If your weight is in question, we do reserve the right to weigh you on a scale and cancel your trail ride without a refund if your weight exceeds the 230lbs limit.
  • Please don’t bring any backpacks or purses, we have saddlebags for small, personal items such as cell phones and cameras!
  • Helmets are a requirement for the ride, and are provided!
  • Pregnant Wahine and keiki under 8 are not permitted to ride.

Cancellation Policy

  • Changes or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the ride to be eligible for a refund.
  • For cancellations outside of 48 hours, contact staff by phone (808-220-5153) or email res.hawaiipolo@gmail.com to be eligible for a refund.
  • Cancellations or changes within 48 hours of the ride are non-refundable. No exceptions.
  • No shows are non-refundable.
  • Rainouts/cancellations due to weather are at company discretion. We ride rain or shine.

I took my friend who had never rode a horse and it was a great experience for her and she loved it. We did the sunset ride and the sunset was spectacular! I was glad she had such a good gentle horse and the staff was very nice and knowledgeable.

Horses are so well trained and perfect for beginners! They take any fear that you may have and squash it with their tame manner and adorable faces. We did the sunset ride and it was absolutely magnificent. Everyone had such a fun time, 100% recommend.

We had a great time on our ride. Guides were knowledgeable and thorough. The horses and facilities were very well kept. It’s apparent they really take care of their animals which was nice to see. The views were amazing. Would definitely do it again!

Such a wonderful way to celebrate my 40th Birthday. Hawaii Polo Oceanfront Trail Rides is so welcoming and friendly. These horse are beautifully maintained and loved! My daughter and I took the sunset stroll... wow amazing! We will most certainly be return customer!

Absolutely amazing! Gorgeous views and awesome horses. Jonah (the rear guide) was fun to chat with and talk to. I paid for the advanced rider ride and loved running on the polo field afterwards - Jonah even helped me learn how to lope/canter. If you want to ride on the beach, you should definitely go here!

This was just what we’re were looking for. A beach ride along the north shore of Oahu. My dad at 73 and my youngest at 11 did great and had a wonderful time. Jess and Jill took us on a beautiful ride. The horses are so well cared for and easily directed by riders. Thanks for a great afternoon!

They make a dream to ride horses on the beach at a Sunset to come true! I recommend this activity. It was very relaxing. A time well spent in nature. We got a private tour and it was awesome! The ride was perfect. The beach was beautiful. Our tour guide was just wonderful!
